Dr. Caroline Sutter is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and Co-Director of the Center for Health Workforce (https://vahlthwf.gmu.edu/) at George Mason University. She is also the Principal Investigator of the Northern Virginia AHEC(https://nvahec.gmu.edu/) and one of the co-founders of the Mason and Partners (MAP) Clinics (https://publichealth.gmu.edu/mapclinics). Dr. Sutter is nationally recognized for her work implementing and evaluating models of community healthcare access and system navigation to improve care and promote collaboration between public health, public safety, and health to ensure that evidence-based treatment is available for at risk and marginalized individuals, families, communities and populations. Her work has been funded by multiple federal organizations, such as the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Dr. Sutter is the recipient of multiple honors, including a 2017 Jack Wood Award Recipient (Partnership Initiative Category) at George Mason University, a 2016 Virginia Nurse Practitioner of the Year award from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and a 2015 American Association of Nurse Practitioners Evelyn E. Cohelan Faculty Leadership Award, George Mason University.
