- Target treatment population: youth, adults, and families who present for mental/behavioral health treatment

- Training in clinical assessment techniques and tools, including use of the Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI).
Full Description
The Clinical Assessment training is designed to provide clinicians/supervisors with psychoeducation and training in tools to promote evidence-based clinical assessment. Clinicians/supervisors will learn how to administer the Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI) and other tools. They will also learn how to integrate information from these sources with clinical intake information and relevant diagnostic considerations to form a clinical case conceptualization.
General Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must currently be providing therapy/mental health treatment services to adolescents and families residing in Fairfax County;
- Applicant must be licensed or license-eligible (i.e., undergoing supervision for licensure) to provide mental-health treatment services;
Please note: State registrations alone - in the absence of a State license - are not sufficient to attend this training. - Applicant must possess a master's degree or higher in a mental health related field by the date of training.
Students close to their graduation may be considered on a case-by-case basis. - Applicant must be available to attend in-person for the full duration of training.
- Applicant must agree to complete brief surveys used to evaluate the training, including:
- Pre-training survey (before training day)
- Post-training survey (immediately after training day); and
- Follow-up surveys 1-2 times during the 6 months following the training.
- Be willing to pay for parking ($19.50 a day) at GMU.
