Katherine Maultsby Harris, M.A.

Graduate Research Assistant
Katherine is a fifth-year student in the Clinical Psychology doctoral program working with Dr. Christy Esposito-Smythers. In 2018, she received a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Psychology with a minor in Hispanic Studies from Davidson College in North Carolina. She then worked as an Intramural Research Training Award fellow with the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, studying health risk behaviors among adolescents.
Her research interests include understanding bidirectional relations between family processes and adolescent risk behaviors. Through this work, she aims to strengthen family engagement in trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions for youth. To this end, Katherine’s F31-funded dissertation is focused on family experiences of burden following an adolescent’s psychiatric hospitalization and relations with follow-up youth mental health services.
