On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, CHSS chartered research centers and institutes had the opportunity to meet with Provost James Anthony along with department chairs and staff from the Dean’s office. Research center and institute directors delivered brief presentations highlighting the research and creative scholarship activities that are underway at their centers and institutes. The Provost delivered brief remarks after the presentations and made time for questions and open dialogue.
Provost Anthony, who joined George Mason University in July, has stated that it is important to hear the prospectives of the faculty and that these dialogue opportunities will enable him to develop an agenda in terms of strategy and goals.
There are nine chartered research centers and institutes in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
